I just wanted to say that doing this course was utterly incredible. My partner was very nervous about coping with the delivery and not knowing how to help or support me. This course changed that. We welcomed our beautiful baby boy into the world on the 26/6/2020. I was in labour for 21 hours and they were some of the calmest most amazing hours of my life by the time we got to hospital I was 7cm dilated (I asked the midwives after I had my boy as I didn’t want to know while I was in labour).

I was only I in labour in the hospital for 4 hours, and was lucky enough to have all of my birth preferences followed. We had a water birth and the midwifes set up the birthing room with the tea lights and fairy lights that we brought and some aromatherapy too. My partner helped catch our baby and he put him on my chest, we had immediate skin to skin and lots of bonding time together with a physiological 3rd stage just how I wanted it all. My partner said he had never been more proud of me and that watching his son finally arrive earth-side was the most amazing thing he had ever seen. This was someone who didn’t want to know what was going on down there and had said he didn’t want to see anything and didn’t want to catch our baby when I asked him previously.

I spent one night in hospital and went home the very next day because I felt so amazing. I even said to my partner that it didn’t hurt anywhere near as much as I thought it would and I truly meant it the pain was nowhere near anything I had anticipated. The midwives that took care of us told me that they were amazed at how calm myself and my partner were for first time parents and actually thanked me for allowing them to be part of such an incredible birth, both of them said they were in awe of how amazing my birth was. The only way I can describe my birth is the most extraordinary experience that all I feel when I look back at it is pure and utter joy. When I look at the pictures of my labour and delivery I am so proud of what I achieved and I can feel all of the love, happiness and pure bliss that I felt in every moment.

Thank you for creating such an incredible tool for people to access to help them achieve the birth of their dreams. I can’t wait to do it all again knowing that I will have the right tools to achieve another calm beautiful birth.
