Hi Melissa, I am writing to let you know that our baby girl has arrived. She was born on July 10 and what an amazing experience it was. As you can remember I was so fearful of the birth this time around. My two previous births were not ideal and my second in particular was traumatic. I wanted a better, positive experience and had heard before of the amazing results of Hypnobirthing. My husband and I loved your classes and felt this was the perfect route to go.
At midnight my waters broke with a gush and we contacted our midwife. I took a long shower while my husband gathered the last of our things for the hospital bag. I had a small surge in the shower but that didn’t concern me. About 30 minutes later we were off to the hospital to be assessed. About 45 minutes after I arrived, the surges picked up and I used my slow breathing. About this time I was 4cm dilated and we all headed down to the birth suite around 2:15am. My husband went to move the car while I got into a hospital gown and breathed through the surges. Between each surge I was talking and remained relaxed. I kept thinking “blue satin ribbons!” About 3:00am my midwife arrived and I was ready to get into the shower. Two surges came close together and I leaned on my husband. Ten minutes later my body “switched” and was moving into a different stage of birthing. A few surges later my beautiful baby arrived. The time was 3:24am. The labor was exactly what I wanted: smooth, easy and natural. I account this wonderful experience to the positive thinking of Hypnobirthing. I actually was excited about labor and delivery. I wish I had done Hypnobirthing with my other two children and have already recommend this method to a friend.
Thanks for your support, Melissa!
