How to get a goodnights sleep during pregnancyIt can sometimes be a challenge to get a good night’s sleep when pregnant. It can be difficult to get comfortable especially when you’re further along in your pregnancy and then there is that constant need to get up several times a night to pee. 

Here are some of Hypnobirthing Australia’s top tips for getting a good night’s sleep whilst pregnant:

  • Go to bed earlier than usual and get up later – I know this sounds like common sense but make a point of doing it.
  • Takes naps throughout the day when you can. Take that nanna nap whenever you get to opportunity, so you can catch up on lost sleep. 
  • When you’re later on in your pregnancy it is best to lie on your left slide as It improves circulation, giving nutrient-packed blood an easier route from your heart to the placenta to nourish your baby. Laying on your left side all the time can get uncomfortable so we recommend using pillows to get comfortable. You can place small pillows under your belly for support, have your partner roll a pillow in the small of your back, and also place a pillow between your knees. You can also purchase a body pillow which is a long sausage like pillow which can curve around your arm, belly, and knees.
