Bio
Hi, I’m Martha. I’m a Hypnobirthing Australia™ certified practitioner, doula, and mum of two, based in Melbourne’s inner east.
I didn’t come to this work because birth was always easy or obvious to me. I came to it because I was anxious, overwhelmed, and afraid of the interventions and “what ifs” that often surround birth. I know what it’s like to want a calm, positive experience while quietly freaking out that everything could unravel. I get you, because I was you.
Hypnobirthing changed my relationship with birth completely. It helped me understand birth not as something to fear or control, but as something to embrace. It gave both me and my birth partner the confidence and practical tools to stay calm, support my body, and meet the intensity of labour rather than fighting it or feeling powerless on the sidelines. Since then, I’ve had two positive physiological births, one in a private hospital and one at home. Those experiences didn’t just inform my work, they shaped how I support others.
My approach is practical, evidence-based, and grounded in real experience. I don’t teach birth as painless or passive. I support women and their birth partners to understand what’s happening in their bodies, how the maternity system works, and how to make informed decisions, so they can stack the odds in their favour for a calm, positive birth, whatever path it takes.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, freaking out, or unsure who to trust, my small group Hypnobirthing Australia™ classes in Heidelberg might be exactly what you’re looking for. Together, we’ll focus on helping you and your birth partner feel excited, confident, informed, and empowered, and prepare for a birth you can feel good about long after it’s over.
