Bio
I’m a Registered Nurse and Midwife, Certified Hypnobirthing Australia Practitioner and Childbirth Educator. For years I have been watching the rise in interventions in pregnancy and the birth process. I have seen the flow on effect of these interventions and the impact they have on women. When I started my family, I was understandably concerned that I would experience the same interventions and have an upsetting birth experience. This led me to gain more knowledge and skills to ensure I had the best experience possible. I already had a great deal of knowledge around labour and birth from my work as a midwife, but that was about supporting other women, going through labour myself was going to be entirely different. I applied and was accepted into a Midwifery Group Practice program with continuity of care. I learnt about Hypnobirthing and additional skills I could use in labour and teach other women when I returned to work. I went on to have two beautiful births and I am incredibly proud of what I achieved. As a Hypnobirthing Practitioner I am excited to bring this education to other women so they too can achieve a positive and empowering birth.
