Every 1 minute 23 seconds another person is added to Australia’s population. Today, Tuesday 23 April 2013, is a special day for Australia, as our population reaches a new milestone ” 23 million!

Based on Australian Bureau of Statistics’ estimates, a new person is added to the population every one minute and 23 seconds. (Have you noticed how many times the number 23 has come up in these statistics? Amazing!)

They say that today is the day that our population is likely to tick over to the 23 million mark. They’ve even narrowed it down to an approximate time…9.57pm! I wonder who will be Australia’s lucky baby?
