Lauren’s Birth Story

40 weeks + 8 days. Zyah came last night at 7.58pm. 4.42kg. I breathed him out in 10 minutes (I’m guessing). Labour part was long -at least 24 hours. I went from hospital to home to hospital in a 28 hour period after having a stretch and sweep at 4.20pm the previous day. At 11.30pm on the 9th a random doctor came in to let me know it was in my best interest to have an induction then or in the morning. I replied with a no thank you and I’m going home.

Midwife missed transition. I intentionally didn’t say anything. She quickly called her support midwife when a baby was pulled up out of the water and into my arms by me. She was in shock. Every midwife on the floor came in to congratulate me. One midwife mentioned that it was the best birth she’d seen/heard in 15 years.
