IMOGEN’S BIRTH STORY
As 8.30 my First contractions started then at 10.30 let Sean know I think we are ‘game on’
At 11.30 I confirm to Sean we had indeed begun and at 11.45 I Call my mum to come be with Verity
2.00pm Sean got home (I meanwhile had been using the breathing and the visualisation and my mum was under strict instructions not to be ‘telling’ me when I needed to go to hospital!) at 2.30 Sean had told me to lay down, relax and he would come time the regularity. I felt what I now believe was a fierce kick from Imogen at 3.00 I let Sean know I really think we need to head to the hospital and at 3.07 call the hospital to let them know I am coming in after which we leave home ” waters break on the way (lucky we were in our not as good second car!) at 3.30 arrive at hospital looking like my waters had broken ! Hustled into a birthing suite with a nurse who I can only describe as ‘meant for us’ she did not use the word push (we hadn’t the opportunity to talk over our ‘birth plan’) She told me to breathe the baby out ” and to work with my body and let it do what it needed to do
At 3.45 Imogen was ‘breathed’ out ” – faster than the attending obstetrician could make it to (8lb 5oz ” no stitches required in fact no tears this time at all !)
The nurses enjoyed the birth as much as we did! It was truly magnificent and I truly thank you for showing me the ‘how’
¨Imogen has been a settled, peaceful baby which I definitely believe is a reflection of how she entered the world. Again thanks so much !
Cheers
