I wish everyone knew the power of their own bodies and how hypnobirthing connects them with that power.

Nina’s Birth Story

I bought the Hypnobirthing course at 36 weeks and birthed at 38, it’s never too late to start!

It was my second child and a VBAC so it was my first vaginal birth. After my waters broke, I was disappointed by my medical team pushing for a C-section straight away. I put them out of my find and focussed on believing in my body and it’s ability to birth my baby and go into spontaneous labour.

For me, the most important parts of hypnobirthing was the deep breathing and the trust in my body. I felt like all the oxygen I was taking in was feeding my body and baby to do exactly what they needed to.

34 hours after my waters had broken and after spending most of the day breathing through painless contractions, I felt a pressure and headed to hospital. Due to the numbness and lack of pain, I presumed I still had a long time to go but I was 8/9cm dilated and ready. My entry into hospital was a horrible and dragged out process, I thought I’d give birth in the waiting room toilet!

The baby came out with just one push, no tears, no pain. If you prepare and believe yourself, it doesn’t matter what staff or hospitals do, you have the power to make your birth amazing! I wish everyone knew the power of their own bodies and how hypnobirthing connects them with that power.
