Natural Hospital Birth
It was my second pregnancy. I had chosen to educate myself using Hypnobirthing this time around. I had a lot of interventions with my first birth, which I was not prepared for. I wanted to do things differently this time.
I felt relaxed the day before, and I was ready to meet my baby. I used warm water to relax during the day and I had a great day spending time with my toddler. I knew it was going to be in labour that night so me and my partner had an early night.
I felt waves coming and going from 9.30pm. I woke up in between waves, but was able to fall back asleep. At 2am the waves started to get closer together and more intense. I used wooden combs in my palms when the waves were intense. I had a
warm shower, put the tens machine on, and headed to the hospital.
We had meditation music playing in the car on the way, keeping my eyes closed. As we approached the hospital I could feel my baby heading down and I had to breathe through the waves as I could feel pressure down below. I was wheeled into an emergency room as I was so close to delivering, there was no time to be taken to the delivery room.
I gave birth to my baby in 28 minutes from when we arrived at the hospital. My body knew when to push as I was bearing down. Standing over the bed with my elbows resting on the bed. My partner was holding my hands on the other side. I was able to catch my baby as she came into the world. It was such a magical experience.
