I would like to start by thanking you for great hypnobirthing training. Here is my birth story!
My waters broke on Tuesday morning about 1am. I hadn’t had any sleep as I felt like things could happen that night. My body was just feeling different. We went to the hospital to check that everything was okay. It was all okay so we went home and I tried to rest.
I managed to stay calm until about 1pm. Then I started to feel scared for a moment. We headed to the hospital. I was told I was 4cm dilated. We got into the birth suite and I kept trying to stay calm while listening to the tracks. I eventually relaxed again.
The midwife really respected the hypnobirthing approach and helped me when I was struggling to cope by using the hypnobirthing terms. They checked how dilated I was one more time. Only Eugene knew the results. Turns out I was 6cm. I’m so glad I didn’t find out because even though progress had been ‘slow’ things were about to change as I started to dilate faster.
The surges kept coming and going as I listened to the tracks. I even felt like I slept through some of it. I remember asking Eugene and his sister to play a certain track over and over.
They wanted to put a drip in me 16 hours after my water broke. I asked for 4 more hours because I knew if I had to move to the bed I’d lose my focus. I also became determined to get baby out before they asked to put a drip in again.
4 hours later I was at the bearing down stage so they let me keep going and focusing. They were worried Bella was getting stressed. I ended up having to work harder than I would have liked at this stage. But it was a good call by the midwife. My muscles were very tired by the end but we did it. She came into the world at 10:03pm.
They were concerned as she was all floppy and didn’t make much sound so they took her to check everything. I was very concerned. After about 10 minutes she was okay. In the meantime they were concerned about my blood loss. A lot of different people came in and I got a drip and they did the jabs in my legs, according to what our birth preferences said. After a while I started to feel better. The room went back to low lighting and they allowed bonding time.
It felt so good. The midwives we’re amazing at helping the hypnobirthing process continue the way we wanted.
Giving birth was an amazing experience. I look forward to the day I get to give Bella a little brother or sister.
Thank you so much for all your support.
