I fell in love with the Hypnobirthing Australia™ program when I used it for the birth of my second baby – the first of two positive, empowering VBACs (vaginal birth after caesarean). I found that the knowledge, tools and techniques I gained from the program completely changed the way I looked at birth.
My first birth was an experience that left me feeling completely powerless and like I had no say in my birthing journey. Thanks to hypnobirthing, my next two births were the complete opposite. It was this transformation that has led me here, and my goal is to now help you approach your birth with the same knowledge and confidence, knowing that you are making the best decisions for yourself and your baby.
As a birth and postpartum doula I have seen the difference your birthing experience can make and how it can affect your parenting journey. You (and your baby) deserve an incredible experience – one you will remember for the rest of your life, for all the right reasons.
My Hypnobirthing Australia classes will give you everything you need to have a positive birth experience – regardless of the circumstances of your birth.
If you want to know more about how I can support you to feel confident and empowered to give birth on your own terms, head to my website or come and say hi on Instagram

Hello, my name is Elise. I am a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife and Hypnobirthing Australia™ practitioner.
I work at a tertiary maternity teaching hospital and have had the pleasure of supporting hypnobirthing families in labour and birth. In my experience, and as you will find out in the course, watching a hypnobirthing mum is ‘night and day’ different to any other birthing mothers. Similarly their partners play such an active role that I believe is essential and is highlighted in the course.
My big focus in my teaching is giving the empowerment, control and consent back to the birthing mothers and their partners. I love the science and evidence base behind the Hypnobirthing Australia™ course and believe it is the ultimate preparation for birth and if practiced will ensure you achieve a positive birth, however that may look!
You will leave this course with a toolkit of techniques you may use for all stages of your labour and birth. You will feel empowered to make decisions regarding your care when birth may take an unexpected turn and most importantly will feel relaxed and supported in the process.
If you’re looking for positive birth education, I run private and group courses. Please enquire via my Instagram or Facebook.

Hi, I’m Sarah, Registered Midwife, qualified adult educator, and mother to twin girls. I currently work as a midwife in the public health system and love my job!
Birth is an incredible moment to bear witness to and every birth I am involved with is a privilege, but I know firsthand the difference quality childbirth education makes.
The environment Hypnobirthing creates is positive and serene. It is amazing to be involved in a calm and empowered birth, and this has inspired me to teach Hypnobirthing.
I truly believe Hypnobirthing will transform your experience of labour and birth! In finding the Hypnobirthing Australia program, I felt an instant connection to the methods, resources and tools used and knew I had found something that captured the passion I feel for childbirth education with an integrity that aligns with my own values!
Practice Name: Birthing for You
Location of Service: Subiaco (WA)
I am a nurse midwife with a passion for education. I feel strongly that women should be knowledgable and prepared for birth. I have seen the fear and misinformation that exists around birth and want women to reconnect with the knowledge and understanding that birth is normal and have confidence that their body can birth their baby. I believe birth is transformative and want to prepare women to embrace their transformation to motherhood in the most positive way possible. I believe that no matter how women birth it can be empowering and positive. As a Hypnobirthing Australia™ Practitioner I want to assist women and their birth partners to achieve the positive birth they desire, whatever that may be.
I am a Hypnobirthing mother of 2 young children, Hypnobirthing Practitioner and passionate advocate for positive birth.
When I was pregnant with my first child I was labelled high risk and it seemed I was only being prepared for interventions. I realised that I needed to regain control and bring the joy back into my pregnancy!
Hypnobirthing gave me all the tools I needed to ensure a calm, positive birth – knowledge, breath, partner support and belief. My passion for Hypnobirthing grew during my second pregnancy, and amazing birth, and I knew then that I had to share Hypnobirthing with as many couples as possible.
As a Hypnobirthing Practitioner, I am driven to make sure mothers understand their choices and feel empowered to make those choices. I also want birthing partners to feel confident and calm in the birthing process so that they can be a strong advocate and support for the mother.
I run classes out of Wellness on Whatley in Maylands.
I also run classes in the Wheatbelt and would love to hear from any Wheatbelt mums who would like classes in their area.
Practice Name: Birth Savvy
Pip Wynn Owen has been a Registered Midwife since 1995, a Childbirth Educator since 2004 and is also a Mother of 4. She passionately believes that the birth of a child should be the most beautiful and empowering time in a couples life. And that women should feel like Wonder Woman after giving birth.
Like most hospital midwives Pip was “thrown in” to teaching antenatal classes, but it quickly became her passion and she decided she needed to do formal childbirth educator training. This dramatically changed her style of teaching and approach to prenatal education. However after the birth of her 4th child, her first with an obstetrician in the private hospital system, she realised there was a real need to step outside the system and give women a truly independent childbirth education service.
She started ‘Birth Savvy…Ask for what you want’ in early 2012 and now runs seminars, workshops, and private sessions in Perth WA
Pip realises how hard it can be to find your confidence and voice in today’s birthing environment and that sometimes information isn’t enough. She knows that what couples need, on top of good quality education, is specific techniques, tools and strategies to enable them to ask for and get the birth they truly want.
This is why Pip is delighted to be a Certified Hypnobirthing Australia™ Practitioner. She feels now she has found the programme that give couples the best chance at that beautiful, empowered birth she wishes for all couples.
Through Pip’s passion she is fast becoming the voice for pushing for better births in Perth’s private hospitals with journalists seeking her opinions for television news, radio, newspapers and magazines.

Practitioner Name: Kelly Austin (Registered Nurse – RN, Registered Midwife – RM, Hypnobirthing Practitioner Childbirth Educator – HPCE)
Servicing : Scarborough (WA)
My name is Kelly and I’m a Registered Nurse, Midwife and Hypnobirthing Australia practioner.
As a Nurse and Midwife I work within a highly medicalised area and too often I was watching couples becoming disempowered due to the unexpected turns their pregnancies and births were taking. They were handing over control of their experience as they felt they no longer had choices…Then I discovered Hypnobirthing.
After everything I had experienced as a Midwife specialising in high risk, my husband and I had to ‘normalise’ birth again. We took the Hypnobirthing Australia course and now have our very own Hypnobub. The birth of our daughter took many twists and turns, but it was perfect for us.
My drive and passion is to give you the tools to you need to have an incredible birth no matter which way your birth journey takes you. I want you to feel strong, accomplished and empowered by your experience and above all, to always feel that you are in control of your pregnancy and birth.

My name is Jacqueline O’Neill, but everyone calls me Jackie. My family consists of my 2 amazing children (20 months apart) an incredibly supportive husband and a cat and dog. Our house is crazy, loud and well lived in and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I have a colourful background. I was born in Switzerland and grew up in Nigeria. We travelled a lot as children. I always thought that was the norm, until we settled in Western Australia. It was then that I realised just how lucky we were – most of the kids in school had never even had the opportunity to see snow.
I speak fluent Swiss-German, German and English – I am grateful my Father kept speaking Swiss to us when we came to Australia.
My intrigue in the body and all that is birth was sparked with my first pregnancy. I had a Breech baby on board and had to fight for my right to birth how I believed my body could. I am sure things would have ended very differently had I not done Independent Childbirth Education and surrounded myself with supportive people.
I went on to have a very empowering positive birth, after changing providers at 39 weeks.
Because of this, I recognised how important it is for birthing women and their Partners to be informed, empowered and supported throughout their journey.
This is YOUR journey, no one else’s. Embrace it, surrender to it and fill yourself with knowledge.
I can’t wait to share all the incredible, empowering tools that Hypnobirthing Australia has to offer.
